A quick search should dig up "the final hours" of Stick at the Campfire.

As you say, Bro Dave. But from the movie "Shane"

"STICK, COME BACK"
I miss the bastid.

Then, again, some folks that starts the stuff (read; schitt) can't take it,,then cries "Christ**an Network", not fit for wimmens, nor chillens nor human comsumption.

He warn't one. But he did give it in the same spirit that was given to him. So be it. Never did like Remingtons, though.

All stay well for your own wellness. Bless yu'r knarly-ass, Stick. (may see you at Prudehoe B by 4/4).

Whats even more interesting is that folks that didn't like his threads had the ability(if they understood how) to put him on ignore. And that they did not need to go looking for his threads or replies.
Same goes for this thread- Didn't like Stick, why are you here commenting now?

FWIW:

I miss the Old Stick (pre-2005).

He seemed a lot happier then. He was undoubtedly funnier.

And he often posted very helpful stuff.

Some people's own lives suck so bad they have to concern themselves with the lives of others.

Stick told it like it is...like it or not.

There was always a couple or three experts waitin' to pile on and prove him wrong, very few if any could, and there's a point there in that.

Jealous whiners make there own luck too........

Stick told it like Stick wanted it to be -and he was adamant about it, but that didn't always make him right.
I tried hard to actually meet the man- as anyone with as much exerience as he claimed to have would have been interesting and informative. He refused to even give me his name and insulted me (anonymously of course).
I offerd to buy him a beer and meet him when he came through Anchorage but again he said he could afford to choose who he drank with and I wasn't on his list.

These forums are great - but self proclaimed, anonymous experts who refuse to verify their expertise generate a lot more heat and smoke than light. Unless you are on the witness protection program I would prefer to see folks use their real names and address on here - just as they do when they sign up.

Phil,

There are plenty here, that have met and hunted with Big Stick. He is anything but anonymous to many of us. Wouldn't even begin to comment on the situation between you two, in fact, it's the first I've heard about it.

I'd have enjoyed a beer with ya, but if your equating Big Sticks desire for some privacy with terrorists and cowards, I'd have to pass

I haven't been around as long as most. Having read many of his posts, he struck me as a guy that knew what he was talking about. I started to private message him quite often to ask his opinion on a project currently in the works. He didnt know me from adam but answered EVERY question with respect and like it was the first time he was ever asked. I even bounced questions off him that came about with my gunsmith. He had the same answers. Wouldnt know Stick if he was next to me, but he was an asset here and I respect his knowledge and experience

adk

adk;

My thoughts on 'Stick, to a "T".

He irked the hell outta me on occasion, but damn, that's human nature, and I'm sure it was reciprocal.

I'd like to buy him a beer someday... and hope to do just that.

Never saw this coming, from you.

A coward?

You must be pretty full of yourself to be so offended that someone doesn't want to have a beer with you.

Maybe he isn't missing much...
