A buddy and I were down to the Lake of the Arbuckles this past Friday and saw a rather large bird floating around it rode kinda low in the water had a black head and silvery/grayish body and was bigger than a duck smaller than a goose figured it was a loon . Didn't know they came this far south ?

Here too. It's Easter Sunday and I've been sitting around a campfire in my overalls and no shirt since 200

Was beautiful here today also. Had a great egg hunt and ham dinner, Easter baskets for all 4 grandkids followed by announcement of grandkid #5 arrival scheduled for Nov 5, 2014. No more room at the dining room table. Time for an auxiliary card table in the family room. We'll need to round up a high chair, 22lr youth model, bassinet, fishing rod, life jacket, youth bow & arrows, 20ga shotgun. Everything in Realtree or Mossy Oak camo patterns. Grandpa's work is never done.

You're going to need a bigger lap grandpa Ron.

Huh? That's funny you mention Rice Lake. One of our sister company's is in Rice Lake and they needed work so we gave them our Tag and Utiliy line of trailers. My employee's are not too happy about having to babysit them all the time for parts. lol

We hit 74* today. After the compnay left, we went over to Makes no Patties and the first thing she told us was that it was too hot on the deck. We should sit in front in the shade. lol One of the worst winters for cold in my life time and people are already bitching about the heat. That's MN for ya! grin

Just wait until the skeeters show up. Then you'll really hear some squacking.

BTW, the turkeys the SIL & GD shot Weighed 20 & 22 pounds.

Nice Birds! We saw 0 turkeys but had fun doing it! And you will NOT hear me complaining about the weather yesterday! It was beautiful! I got a sunburn on my shoulders.

We had quite the adventure actually but it's best told around a campfire. It involved a lot of mud, stuck ford explorer's (not mine) and a stuck Dodge Ram with mud tires (inside joke, and catching a theif.

Quite the weekend.

71 here yesterday! I like the catching a thief part. love to hear the details on that!

Every year, a guy in the SE corner of my lake doesnt bother to take in his dock, boat lift or even his boat. It just sits in the ice all winter. He has been really lucky as the ice hasnt went out in his direction in past years. This year I think his luck ran out. 20-30 mph winds out of the NW. Ice is starting to pile up on his shore. the bad part is, I am sure he will just turn it in to insurance.

The 2 birds the SIL & GD shot were the only ones they saw in 2 days of hunting.

My youngest and I are going to give it a whirl this coming weekend. I have found sign (with the help of Tzone's advice) but I have not seen any yet. Except for a hen my dog kicked up when we were 4 wheeling 2 weeks ago.
