I bought my burly's in 99 or 2000. Literally thousands of hours in them and no leaks. I used them 40-50 hours a week for about 5 years when I was a surveyor.

Good boots!

Tom,

Sorry, I forgot about the downsize and rebuilt program. Just another chance to go buy some guns, always a good thing!!

Dave,

I'm good friends with two brothers that inherited some where north of a dozen pre-64 model 70's. Gramps used and shot them a lot, now they just sit in the safe, untouched for years. Every once in a while, I renew my offer to buy the 300 H&H, but it always falls on deaf ears. There is also a heavy barrel 22-250 in the bunch that I have shot and it shoots very well.

I know a guy that has a pushfeed M70 .300 H&H for sale'ish. It's minty and I'd like to buy it if I have spare income when I see him next.

I have no real use for a 300 h&h other than it's cool as hell. grin

I don't have a use for a 300 H&H either, but that's never stopped me before:)

I think he was building cabinets for the Widow Thurman in exchange for some fine china and his wife Caroline thinks he's up to no good...

OH wait that might have been Chuck Ingalls. (Who was also a fine craftsman if I recall)

I was wondering the same thing?

GS had his first game last night. Earlier games rained out. He pitched 3 out of the 4 innings. Game called due to darkness. His team lost, but he did have a 2 run RBI.

Mini man had another game last night too. It was ugly. They lost 11-2. He did strike out 2, and throw the 3rd guy out at first. He only pitched one inning, now all the kids have pitched and we will put the better guys out on the mound.

I was frozen by the end of the game!

DIL didn't say how many hits/runs he gave up. It's his first time out, so he'll get better. Pitching seems to run in his mother's family. Both of his aunts went to college on baseball scholarships as pitchers.

I went to our local small plane city airport this evening. My daughter had her 49th. birthday yesterday and her boy friend surprised her today with a 45 minute flight in an actual 1943 model Bi plane.Yup a two winger, fabric covered with a really neat sounding radial Lycombing engine. It will take her weeks to get the silly grin off her face.It was something she had on her bucket list she said.
The only thing I have on my bucket list is my 100th. birthday.Only 27 years to go.

I got back from trout/turkey camp yesterday. The three of us tagged out, 9" beard, jake, & another jake. Birds were goofy. Hens bunched up, Toms talking - but not committing, rain, wind, snow in the woods, just a weird season...like it's really the 2nd week in April instead of May. Trout didn't cooperate at all. Water was high, fast, and cold. Too early me thinks. All the cold temps, rain, and wind kept the bugs at bay. Made the 5 days of tenting a little sporty.

We ate well. Venison tenderloins grilled and deep fried nuggets, bluegill and perch, venison brats, duck breasts wrapped in bacon and grilled, goose with habenero pepper (I don't recommend this with outdoor plumbing - jess sayin'), backstrap grilled with plum jelly, homemade pickles, venison hash, and I'm sure I'm missing some. We also made sure the American Brewing industry was safe from economic collapse.

Found out when I got home that mom needs to go to Mayo's in Rochester pronto. Dad is too weak to drive, mom can't, other siblings are tied up, so I guess it's me leaving in the a.m. 12 hour hole shot. No idea for what duration. Barely have time to get clean underwear. Add that to the wife asking me to change brakes this evening and life's been a bit hectic. Friggin' snowglobe...
