Now that's a dirt mover! Just think of the fun you could have with that out at the camp.

I got hosed on the CO elk draw. Something to the effect of UNSUCCESSFUL - REFUND WILL BE MAILED. Geez, didn't even get my second choice which should have been an automatic. Guess I'll wait for leftovers to come out. frown

Seriously?

Oh boy, now I'm nervous. I submitted 3 of them for Co elk.

Ours should be automatic though, one youth tag and a couple rubber nosed cow tags.

Yup, we went for cow tags too. Both our first and second picks should have been automatics. Oh well. You can check yours here:

Fingers crossed for you and your group. smile

WI DNR finalized the Deer regs for 2014. No antlerless permits in 19 northern counties with a couple exceptions; i.e. youth and military. So we be hunting bucks only this year.

Speaking of bears in the city. Channel 7 in Wausau posted a photo of a bear at the entrance of the court house in downtown Wausau early Saturday morning.

When I was working on Hwy 64 through Merrill in 03 or 04, there was a bear in town that was showing up at the Hardee's entrance a few times in a few weeks. It was pretty cool. The cops didn't even think about shooting the bear either. They'd usually block the road, so people would leave it alone and it would wander on it's way.

I made it out on Prior Lake again today. Caught my 10 crappies and three wayward bass. The nice thing about rainy weather, is it keeps all the idiot pleasure boaters off the water-god forbid they'd ever get wet. 'Think I'm gonna put a bilge pump in the boat again-I accumulated a pretty good bit of water today from all the rain. 12 volt wiring's easy-should be about a 1 hour job if that.

I've got enough fish for a good fish fry now. Can't wait to do it. One of my favorite dishes of summer. We're heading up to Emily for the 4th of July weekend and hope to put enough fish in the boat for a good fish fry while we're there. I've got a little lake up there that doesn't get fished much and is full of hammer handle northerns that seem to have a love affair with chartreuse spinnerbaits, so if need be, we'll be eating pike. Plan on taking one day and going over to fish somewhere on the the Whitefish chain-anybody got any pointers or hotspots for me? 'Never fished those lakes before.

Bear update. The bear at the Wausau courthouse made it into the parking garage where it was tranquilized and relocated.

My son bought the GS a Ruger American youth model in 7mm-08.

This was 1.5 miles miles from our house.

"A performer in the Steven Point Air Show is dead after his plane crashed while performing an aerial maneuver at the show Sunday afternoon.

One witness tells us the pilot was making what appeared to be a question mark in smoke trails when it sounded like the engine failed.

"The single plane was performing aerial maneuvers when it went down in a wooded area approximately 1,000 feet east of the airport runway. The 47-year was pronounced dead at the scene,"
The male pilot was the only one in the Yak 55M at the time of the crash. He is believed to be from Wisconsin.

Police say at this point they do not know what caused the plane to crash. The investigation will be lead by the FAA."
