I'm sure you ran into a number of my acquaintances there and a few of ND's as well. Glad to see you still posting after that adventure. smile

The bear cub and I were doing a little construction work today. We were coring out a pad and spreading gravel with the skid steer. I'm wondering which one of us were having more fun....

I can't believe how big he's getting. Cub is kicked out of daycare for the week with some hand, foot & mouth rash. Mama bear has watched him more but I've had my turn and we will continue this project tomorrow.

So the doc's said not to lift my left arm above my shoulder for four weeks, which puts me dangerously close to deer season. I all ready feel like I could handle shouldering a rifle, but am very begrudgingly holding off. Man, I want to go shoot something-ANYTHING right now. Back up plan's all ready formulating. If figure as a last resort I can scare the living crap out of deer by shooting one handed with a .44 mag Super Blackhawk. Not taking bets on weather I can actually hang on to the thing though.

Stan, my condolences to you and your's sir.

TZ, pretty cool the little lady is now a bonafide hunter! Good job dad! smile

GG, where there's a will, there's a way. Bipod or shooting sticks may help or go with a real light caliber, maybe even some of those managed recoil rounds. Just a thought.

I once broke my collar bone on my right side (bull riding in colorado). 2 weeks later I was shooting trap left handed one armed with a .410. I even managed to get 7 out of 10 hits! so I know where there is a will there is a way. just don't take any unnecessary risks.

I used to work with a guy who broke his collar bone shortly before firearms deer season kicked off. He couldn't handle any sort of recoil, so he borrowed a .22 Hornet from a relative and used it to fill his buck tag opening morning.

Hope you are able to get out there and get it done, GG. smile

Fluffy set me up with some wood for shooting sticks. It's on the agenda for this Sunday to build them.

Oh, I'll be out. Unless this really goes south, I don't think it's going to be a problem. I'll carry a .243 this fall to appease the docs, but might ease back into my '06 or 300 Savage next fall. 'Got a hunt scheduled for Pennsylvania for the Monday after Thanksgiving, and I'll definitely be carrying the 300 then. We had a lot of 99 owners in our camp and I can't let the Old Guard down like that.
