This a.m's hunt started off very slow which had me worried . No deer were spotted until 9:22 a.m had two bucks cruse by one half rack and a eight pt. which I might have shot if he had gone the same path as his buddy . About 10:00 am I heard Mrs.Mule1 put the smack down on something . I gathered my junk and head to her stand which is about 3/4 mile as the crow flies . She wasn't sure if she had hit it or not but I instantly found blood . I don't know how this bugger traveled the 80 plus yards it did but here he is . And Nana aint no horn hunter this was the fifth buck she saw from 9:30 to 10:00

congrats on a nice buck! I'm headed out in another 15 minutes with lil man to see if we can find the nice buck we saw yesterday.

last night we saw several does and a little forky. lil man begged me to shoot them. I reminded him we have all month to hunt so we might as well enjoy it. hopefully he is taking notes. good luck to everyone who can make it in the field already!

I almost ran over a HUGE buck on my mountain bike there late this summer. He was NOT happy with me.

No, I didn't get out yesterday. I ended up working 11 hours.

I do have a few signs of life from up north though.

Weather forecast calls for snow Friday overnight, about .80 of an inch, more on Sunday, lows on Sat of 18 high of 31. NW winds 16-26.

Wind could keep them bedded down.
