Are the murals and "stuff" on the side of the car paint or decal'ish? I had a 79 Bronco that had the brown, orange, yellow, rainbow type stuff on it. It was a reflective decal. If you hit it with headlights or a spot light, you were sightless for a few seconds. I don't know why anyone would put that on there?

okay, if Tzone drove around in a Bronco with a RAINBOW on it, he has definitely caught the gay! Way to go Ryan! I recently got elected/appointed/saddled with the chapter presidency here for PF. I will look forward to hearing about you exploits and may bump into you at some PF functions. Is my .300 WSM big enough for prairie dogs? I dont wanna be undergunned!

if you do decide to go that small, I would only use premium bullets and keep the range to less than 50 yards hopefully I'll be able to but together another prairie dog rig so I'll have a "loaner" rifle for anyone who doesn't have a .223 right Dave?

Yeah I guess I need a .223. All I have that's close is .243, 220 swift and 22-250 Hmm, I guess I don't have any 17 centerfires either, and I'm lacking in .204 I better go shopping. In rimfire I'm covered in .17 and .22 both in magnum length...

do either of the 22's have a heavy barrel? its not a must have, but it helps when doing a lot of shooting.
your 22 mag will go a long way on the dogtown, I need to get one of those.

none of my rimfire 22's are heavy barrel, my .17HMR is heavy barrel and my 22-250 is a heavy barrel.

I don't have one either. a .243 would work, but I thing that would heat up pretty fast. Dave, why wouldn't you use the .22-250?

I have forgot the plug before. Now it's on my launch checklist. Or I put it back in the boat when I get home.

Tzone, If you put the plug into the boat when you get home and some overzealous CO stops you and it is in the next time you drive to the lake.....I think (stress think) you can get a ticket for that. There is no way to prove you arent coming from a different lake and there will be just enough water still slopping around.....what is your take on that?
I dont like that new law one bit personally. Pretty darn rare I fish 2 lakes in one day. I am usually pretty darn happy to be able to fish one lake in one day!

There would be no way for them to prove I WAS at another lake. The boat will be dry. I've only switched lakes once ever in the same day, where I had to reload and trailer.
I will check the regs though. If anyone would get a ticket for something like that, it would be me.

ND and company. This is my SD relatives PD rifle of choice in 24" barrel version. RRA Varmint Last time I talked to him he shot a fox with it at 426 yards laser ranged. That, in addition to 26 plus yotes this year. He was a big bolt action fan until I introduced him to AR's. He says the long heavy barrel AR in 223 is the ultimate PD and varmint rifle.

Those are sweet! Pricy though! All I have is a 22-250 as well. Not the heavy barrel either. Would be a very expensive PD hunt. I spose I could use my SKS and buy a case of ammo for that. 7.62x39's are still relatively affordable. At least the last time I checked.

a .22 hornet would be pretty sweet I think for PD's too.
I've killed the most with a 10/22. some out there quite a ways as well. a little kentucky windage can go a long way when you have a 10 round mag and can adjust quick if you miss.
at the place I go in SD we usually start with .22s for the first half a day or so, stalking through draws and crawling over small ridges. later on we sit up on top of a hill with a .223 or similar rifle and pick em off from a ways away. I use a savage 110 .223 in a thumbhole stock and a burris signature 6-24 ballistic mildot scope. helps that I reload my own too so I have plenty of .223 ammo.

I found a sweet Rem 700 .223 at a shop about an hour away. It has a heavy 20" bbl, and factory sights, and a B&C stock I think. I really liked it when I was there but bought the single 6 that day instead.
I may have to make a run...
