Yeah well i got pictures of the 64 "1/2 ton short box step side" today.

Turns out it's a 3/4 ton long box.

Also looks like it's a true POS.

Craigslist scam? I'm going to check out a '59 F-100 6/stick for my dad tonight after work. 1/2 mile from my place.

He sold his Ranchero and wanted something a little better on gas than 351C cammer. I was interested in the motor for my '55 but that motor was not really for practical use. It scared women and childern.

Ahhh Muffy, I feel for ya. I dont really have any grand words of encouragement other than....dont drink milk a week after the expiration date. That is the best I can come up with. smile

As far as school, I see Bill has graciously offered to help with all of your subjects other than math. I will help with the math, that is my balliwick.

And to all you knuckleheads talking $6+/sq ft concrete....veddy funny grin. I have been talking to quite a few folks and everyone is in the $2.50 to $4.00 range max. My first site-specific bid came back at $3 per.

Anyone have a Polar HD1500 lawn trailer? I am thinnin' on buying one. They sure look sturdy.

Obviously at this point there isn't much I can tell you, because you won't beleive me, but I wasn't kidding. That is ridiculously cheap.

If he charged that around here he'd never ever be slow. NEVER. Does he travel the area? I'm serioius?

Can't tell you about that particular trailer, but they look to be damn expensive. For a lot less, I use an everyday JDeere lawn tractor trailer or my 8N Ford. I added stake sides to it (it has the stake pockets moulded into it). That doubles the capacity easily.

I have used it for quite a few years hauling rock, and overfilled with oak and hickory firewood to the point that the axle is sagging and yet it keeps on trucking. Can't recall what I paid, but it was cheaper than 4 Benjamin$. Has the dump feature too, but the stake sides for added volume really helps. That Polar thing looks like capacity would be limiting for stuff like firewood.

Available at most home supply stores like Lowes etc, that sell lawn tractors and the like.

I dunno what to say either, that's got to be concrete only with no delivery cost figured in, no forming or site prep, no pour, no finishing.

Here is the actual wording:

3100 sq ft concrete driveway 4"thick with #4000 granite and #3 rebar 2' on center.
seal driveway with cure sealer
cut joints no more than 10" on center
included 3 loads of granular fill (if not used deduct $90 per load)
Total $9,300.

These are the same guys who poured my garage and my basement walls. Did a great job and have been in the biz for many many years. they do a lot of work for my builder as well.

thoughts?

Wow, I assume the cut joints are 10' rather than 10"

but wow, that's just dirt cheap.

ooops, yep, 10'. I guess I got carried away with the shift key.

ND, give a call to a local concrete guy up there and see what he says. I am really curious and Pam would really like a concrete driveway! whistle

Well, way earlier when I said I'd take a guess and said your project was 10k.... I was actually guessing it to be 2900 sq ft.

But I guess with no footing, the 4" pour goes further so... yeah I guess I can see it.

But at over 3000 sq ft for 9-ish I'd say you are doing very well.

Missy, beer good here too

I'd really like a concrete driveway too. Really, I just want a slab in front of the garage and next to the garage to park the boat. At that guy's prices I may be able to pull off the whole driveway.

Just heard this morning from a person getting a garage slab quote, came out at just over $4.50 sq ft without any "dirt work" (coring, gravel fill, backfill)

Of course that's maybe a little thicker pour throughout with a footing perimeter.
