Looks like a Youth 2n1 model but could be a Ranchland Security Rifle:

GOOD rifles. Arguably(of course)comparable to the top brand push feed rifles.

Had one of those in 7mm-08 and sold it last year. Basically a Chromemoly HOwa 1500 with a scalloped receiver and drilled bolt to lighten it up. Has a thin taper barrel that is 20" long and is bedded into a nondescript wood stock that has a pebble finish on it. They are not glass bedded at the factory. Good basis for an ultralight push feed rifle better then most actions your'll find about bulletproof as they come.

I've got one of the Howa built Weatherby's thats a 1500. Although mines a bull barrel and wears the SUB-MOA floor plate that adds 200 bucks. It shoots good. Trigger sucks though. I'm told that the Weatherby line has a different (worse) trigger. I was thinking about buying another Howa, like the Ranchland Security, but they don't make it in a .260. I guess I could add another 308 [half woody]

The ultralight does little to lighten the action. Most weight loss is in the barrel. I do not like that idea at all. Aside from that, the rifle is as good as they come and the bottom metal is better than any other factory rifle made, IMO.

I was looking at one last month. The stock (synthetic) seemed...chunky? Especially thru the pistol grip area. Not sure how to describe it.

Anyhow, I passed on it and ordered a T3 lite stainless for about the same money.

If the stock is pebbled over wood I can see how it might feel "chunky".If the rifle is still in Vernon when I get over there next time I will stop and take a look. Thanks for the input guys RB.
