I'm interested in finding a leather holster for my Mountain Gun. This would not be for concealed carry, but for everyday carry in the woods. I'm looking for something that is comfortable, secure and that tucks close to my right side, but at a height that is low enough that the grips don't dig into my ribs. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Milt Sparks and El Paso Saddlery are excellent holster makers.

I have an older (20+ yrs) El Paso Saddlery "Threepersons" that is outstanding. I don't care for the recent stuff -- it seems a little soft and bulky to me. Also have two Milt Sparks rigs for the Mtn Pistol -- Summer Special and the 200AW -- these two rigs are absolutely top notch. I also have a Milt Sparks belt that is my daily cary/pants belt. Sparks backlog is currently 20 to 26 weeks per their website www.miltsparks.comThe holster(s) I use the most are a Simply Rugged Sourdough Pancake three slot (strongside carry) for everyday carry and the Bianchi Cyclone (cross draw) when bow hunting elk. I carry a 329PD all day, every day and use the Simply Rugged Soudough Pancake almost exclusively. The Sourdough pancake rides a little high, and may not be suitable for your purposes. Simply Rugged makes a "Threepersons variant" that rides lowere, as does the Bianchi Cyclone. The Simply Rugged leather is about 6 weeks backlogged, but you can get the Bianchi Cyclone "off the shelf" Simply Rugged www.simplyrugged.comBianchi Cyclone 111. Not fancy,but I have a Hunter Holster that I had for my 4" barrel Mt Gun, 44 mag. It worked for me and is for sale for maybe $15 + shipping

I carry my 41Mag Mountain Gun in a Bianchi #5. Very comfortable.

If your on a budget, a thumb snap holster for a 1911 will work in a pinch.

Yes, I used a Gould and Goodrich 1911 holster for my Mountain gun one season, until I found one for the Smith.

I usually tote my Mountain Gun in an El Paso Saddlery Threepersons and it's an awesome holster. Mine's maybe 2 years old and it's anything but soft or bulky. There's another company out there called San Pedro Saddlery that also makes Threeperson holsters. I have one of those for a Blackhawk and it is much softer than the one by El Paso. Is it possible the newer one you're referring too wasn't actually an El Paso? El Paso Saddlery San Pedro's site seems to be down at the moment. San Pedro Saddlery I wholeheartly recommend the EP Threepersons and the SP Threepersons will do in a pinch.

Mine's maybe 2 years old and it's anything but soft or bulky. I'll second the not soft or bulky. I have one for a 4" N-frame. I like it so much I even use it with a 3" L frame.

I've got an El Paso Saddlery "agent" holster for my Mtn. gun. Works great for me. It is a high ride, and has duel slots for cross-draw or strong side.

Not sure of the Manufacturer, but it has the S&W Logo stamped on the the backside of the holster. this is what I have for my 44 Mag, it's a Taraus Raging Bull in 44 Mag with a 4" barrel. The reason I'm showing this is my brother has the S&W Mountian Gun in 44 Mag and it fits this holster just fine. He has an Uncle Mike's holster for his 44 Mag. ![[Linked Image]](http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a336/W7ACT/44MagHolster.jpg) It's not a fancy holster but it looks good and works for me. Sometimes you get lucky as I'm a Lefty and I found this at a local gun shop in the used holster box and paid $10.00 for it.

Check plus for the Kramer holster, paddle style, works great for me with the S/W mountain Gun .44, well worth the price. Great people to buy from too.

I carry my Mountain Guns in leather by Sam Andrews. His shop is in Alachua Florida, http://www.andrewsleather.com/The holster I use is his "Saddle" style. Sam gets exellent reviews on his leather work, is reasonably priced, and his workmanship is beyond compare. I carry my S&W .44 mag Mountain Gun in a Desantis cross-draw holster. I like having my revolver on the opposite side of my body when I'm carrying a rifle on a sling. Also, the cross-draw doesn't dig into my side when I'm sitting.

Simply Rugged 4 sale I just ordered a left handed pancake holster with the IWB option for my Tuarus Raging Bull in 44 Mag from Simply Rugged today upon your recommendation. From what I see of their leather work on their website it looks encouraging.
