Last year I shot a 900lb cow bison with a 9.3x62mm and 250 grain Accubond. Excellent performance. I hit her twice even though the 1st shot would have been enough. Internal damage was extensive. Neither bullet exited though. Not a huge deal to me.

That should be a good combo, I like the idea of a 200 grain bullet for elk though.

300 Win Mag and 180 grain Accubond = and just for the heck of it, 165gr Accubond from a 30.06 = To be honest, I've never hunted Elk, hope to some day, but think the 180 grn AB would do fine. Congrats on your Fine Trophys. What was the spread on that Moose?????
Its all right to be white!! Stupidity left unattended will run rampant Don't argue with stupid people, They will drag you down to their level and then win by experience

Without reading all the opinnions so far, I will only give you my personal opinnion and that is I always use super premium bullets for hunting big game, I like the extra measure of not having to deal with bullet failure..
I would opt for the Nosler partition on elk every time...If I'm wrong I will never know it, but if I am right then I won't be chasing a wounded bull all over hell and creation in Idahos rugged mountains...
In the early years of my life I delt with way too many bullet failures and long tracking jobs and chases..For the extra 50 cents for that bullet I consider that damn good insurance to not spoil my hunts...

Hell, if a 180 AB can't do the job, we're in serious trouble!

To the question - without a doubt. The one in my freezer would heartily concur!

last week my hunting partner took a 7x6 bull that dressed out @ 620 lbs, with 180 gr AB out of his 300 Win Mag, shots were at 40 yards. First shot hit behind the shoulder at a quartering to angle, penetrated to the far side hip. Bull ran forward 10 feet and stopped, 2nd shot through the ribs below the spine, with exit. Dead bull
great performance with the 180 gr NAB
