My wife just saw a mountain lion in our back yard. When I got up it had walked out of sight.

I showed her pictures of them and indeed she said it was one of them.

Here is a picture of a mountain lion in Trumbull, CT watching children thru the door while they played on the floor of the kitchen.

Agreed...the only good cat is a dead cat...I didn't know ya'll had cats back there. To just stand there looking through the glass like that, my first thought was that it may be a released "pet"...just a matter of time before it seriously hurts or kills someone.

Are ya sure of the wherebouts those pic's were taken? I've seen them on the 'net for the last several years with various locations listed for them. The most common location given was from a home in Colorado.

Indeed I am not certain that the pictures I posted were taken in Connecticut.

However I have seen mountain lions in Vermont and the farmer in NW CT said there was one near his place.

I'm also in CT, and I got that pic of the lion "looking at the kids on the floor" email sent to me as well. Supposedly in Avon or Canton, as I remember it. I'm thinking its probably an urban legend.

That said, I'm pretty sure I've seen one around here as well; it was a quick event, but its for sure it was no bobcat, nor a coyote. We have those around here pretty regularly so I'm quite sure of what it wasn't.

My wife's reply when she saw this thread (and the original one that had the same pics), was "Well, would you have shot with the 9mm, gotten the 10mm from the nightstand, or gotten something out of the cabinets? 'Cause that thing would need to be dead."

Heck with the glass, because I'd have to replace the whole door when that 11/87 cut loose full of buck shot. My word ! Watching kids on the floor. Doesn't look like he wants a bowl of milk,

A guy sent me the picture with the fella holding up that huge mountain lion, I think he is a guide and frequents the Campfire, JJHack or something like that, know the one? Anyway, a guy sent that to me recently with a note that it was killed about 30 miles from my house here in Missouri! He was dead serious about it... I got a good chuckle out of his reaction when I sprang the news to him about the truth of the pics. Another guy had the big Arizona lion that was killed by the car as being killed here in Missouri too. This stuff gets around... and around.

I guess I would of seen if some 230 gr 45acp tap ammo would be effective on an intruder.

Not true. Those photos have been around for several years. They were taken by Dr. Dave Rogers at his home in Lander, Wyoming. You can verify it at Snopes.com.

Savage,
Definitely not Trumbull. Would have heard about that one.
I did watch one 4 years ago in the Bunker Hill section of Waterbury (of all places) in the middle of the morning. The DEP told me what I "really" saw was a dog or coyote. LOL.
( I later found out my sighting was "quietly" confirmed.)

KNOW that I would be at the hardware store the next day to obtain a new window/door. The one pictured would have been destroyed as the bullet was
on the way to the cat!

Sumbitch needs remediation on where to shop for groceries.

Yeah and my wife saw bigfoot this morning in our backyard. By the time I got up it was gone.
