The backdrop and lighting really sets off the nickel.
Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery. --Winston Churchill

For me:
The 6.5" is my absolute favorite for hunting.
The 4" is best for packing on a belt.
The 5" is the best compromise, if you plan on owning just one.

I just looked at the view count. Over five hundred and forty two thousand views! I would say the allure of the .44 is quite strong, and the great info posted by folks, coupled with the excellent pics has made for a truly stellar thread!

I wish Rick would lock this thread. Every time I see it I get a hankering for a custom stainless Redhawk with about a 5" barrel with a full underlug and a Blackhawk with a 4 5/8" barrel, really vibrant color casehardening and some nice stag grips. The Blackhawk could be a .45 but .....
So many guns, so little money.
Dave.

I had a 6 1/2" nickel Model 29 and traded it for a Colt 1911 that I wanted. The guy said he was going to Rhodesia. I always wonder where that pistol is now.
I like to do my hunting BEFORE I pull the trigger! There is only one kind of dead, but there are many different kinds of wounded.

A Christmas package from RJM arrived for all the wild Mac girls. Included in this package was a very cool set of old school camo Pachmeyers. I had admired a set of these on one of Bob's N Frames a while back. Normally I am not a fan of rubber grips on handguns, but these camo ones are very much the exception to the rule. I think it is the late 70s-early 80s look that I like. A big thanks from all the little Macs, as well as Mrs Mac and I!
