Hi there, what is your experience with these three scopes.
How about eye relief?
Which one do you put first, second and third. Why so?

I think you mean Karl Kahles

They all make several different scopes. I have a fair bit of experience with the Kahles 3x9x42 American Hunter, and the only complaint I have is that the short body necessitates extension rings on a LA rifle.

Other than that, the scope is optically excellent.

I can't comment on the others, no personal experience.

Hello,

I have had a Karl Kaps in 4x32 and a 2-8 x 42. Very good scopes. I have seen the other two brand scopes also. I definitely prefer the Kaps scope every time!

Very good scopes, indeed !
The variables are very much like the Schmidt&Bender. Seems to be "almost" the same. I have two S&B also. The KKaps is very simmilar in quality to the Sch&Bender. Much better than de Meopta and better fom me than the Docter. The eye relif is around 8/9 mm.

The 3.35 eye relief reminds me of 80s vintage S&Bs.Still I bet the glass beats the pants of loopie. But then, that dont take alot.

Looking into the USA importer page, I think at those prices the Kaps scopes are really a bargain! Truly great scopes!

FWIW I have a Meopta Meostar 3-10X50. It is a very very good scope. To my eyes better optically than all of the better scopes that I have owned.( conquest, VX-III's, 4200's, monarchs, sightrons, etc.. and right up there with the nicer scopes that I have looked through, VM-V's, PH's, kahles, etc.

It is also the best tracking scope that I have ever used.

I do not believe Docter is making rifle scopes anymore. I think they only offer red-dots.

That's a shame. I have never owned a Pecar, but I do own one Docter. It has been a great scope, and has very nice glass.

Docter still makes riflescopes. They have changed importers again though. Now Docter products are brought in by Merkel USA.

I heard they quit making them, and they do not even show riflescopes on their webpage???

CDNN also bought up all their last remaining stock, and sold them at a discount, a year or two ago.

PatagoniaHunter,
Are their reticles etched ? I am interested in the 2x8x42 with a #4 reticles. Hopefully their #4 is very close to the Zeiss #4.
Thanks.

Yes, the reticle is etched. I think the 2-8x42 is one of the most versatile and useful power range in a variable. And at the same size and weight as the 1,5-6x42.
You welcome,
PH
