Absolutely agreed! That's what it's all about. I'm digging this discussion because we don't have the same old, same old, pre-recorded comebacks and short one-liner, nuff said, smart aleck responses.

Most of the dear camps I hunted in Alberta.Loopies were few and far between. Most of those guys and myself included couldn't see limiting themselves that much.

You guys are too funny. I'll tell you what, you guys hunt what you hunt with your scope of choice and I'll hunt what I hunt with my scope of choice. This little gang buster anti Leupold chit is too funny, and no offense but you top it all off with a pic of dead feral hog on a dirt road? C'mon guys post a pic of something cool. Pics of high dollar rifle and scope combos deserve something better than a pig!...grin

AC,
The pig pic was for SKane. He seems to always make a positive comment every time I post so I didnt want him to feel left out.
Heres a Nice ULA with a loopie so you dont feel left out to.

I like the rifle, with the 2-7 loopie its not even 7 lbs.
The scope "fits" the rifle. But as you should know by now.Im not a loopie fan.

Thats exactly what I am talking about.....FIT! Thats my primary reason for not running the Conquests on any of my guns, I dont like how they fit. I'll tell you what, I got hooked on the concept of Turrets for a year. I played with it out to extended ranges and then I went hunting with it, killed 3 animals with that combo in 07. Backpacking with my Montana and a Leupy was a dream but that damn turret got caught on everything, or it was digging into my side. So after one season I sold the Leupy w/ Turrets and got another 3.5-10 w/out turrets. This ones just for you Dave, I would have never seen this guy through my damm Leupy if he wasn't white with the dark shale background and in the shade of the draws. Damn Leupie almost cost me a trophy!....grin

Lights out.....oh yeah it was lights out alright!

Do I detect a turret on that Leupy?

Nice Ram. A 3X9 Leupy cost me a nice Ram about 80 miles south east of Prudhoe Bay in 86 I believe it was...

Yes not enough resolution to detemine legality
I was useing a pair of Leupy 7X20 pocket binos to save wieght and niether were enough and at 300 yards or a bit less. The ram turned out to be a very good ram for that area, I know because Rodney killed him

This is the spot where I shot from, can you imagine how much better the picture would have been in the scope if I had been looking through a Conquest instead of a Leupy?...grin I didn't look through that scope for more than 2 seconds before I shot...seriously.

We all have the tools we like and tools we dont like. Whatever a guy chooses to use I can only imagine its for a reason. I would love to have a VX-III with Zeiss glass in it and a etched in retical for the VX-III price, but I dont like how Conquests fit my guns, it is what it is. I do find it humorous when folks start ganging up on a product for whatever reason when there are truck loads of guys out there that would gladly risk their lives on a Leupold working when it needs to and have with no hesitation. Been fun fellas.
