Took the munchkin out yesterday. The wind was rough, but she held in there and this little bruizer showed up about 0830...
35 yard shot, .223AI, 50 gr VMAX at 3800 fps... He took three hops at the shot and was DRT before we could get out of the stand....She was a happy camper...

Jamison, I can't tell for certain but is she a little red head? Only reason I ask is because I have noticed that it seems every success post of a little girl or young lady this season so far shows a redhead smiling like heck with there deer...

Has anyone else noticed this?

is it the year of the red heads? grin

well what ever it is it's great to see all these young people out having a great time.

Mr. Jamison;
Thanks for sharing the photos and story of your hunt with your daughter.

Please send along congratulations to her for shooting that fine, fat whitetail.

Looking at the photo of him skinned, I can almost taste the skewer meat youll get off that front shoulder!

Lest I forget, Id like to send a tip of the hat your way for spending the time and energy to take her out hunting. As others have noted, her smile certainly does say it all, doesnt it?

Thanks again,
Dwayne

Interesting choice of bullet.

wink

Jeff-- Its a 1:14" twist, so I can't shoot the heavies. It won't shoot the 53gr TSXs for crap(10"+ groups at 100), even though it will stabilize them. It will bughole the VMAXs, and she is a VERY good shot, often turning in sub MOA groups with this rifle out to 300yds, so I had no issue with her shooting a load I knew she could shoot well, even though it is a varmint bullet. It performed well, because the shot was placed where it was supposed to go. She shoots better than 90% of the grown men I know.
