26" stainless 45 cal Encore barrel. I'm the original owner, selling because I'm switching to 50 cal for elk hunt. I have killed 5 or 6 whitetails and a mule deer using this barrel and have kept it clean. A few very minor surface scuffs on the barrel but no scratches. A little goo around the scope base holes from the loctite as usual. The open sights are sighted about an inch high at 50 yds if I remember correctly. I'll throw in 6 225 gr powerbelts and 16 180 gr Hornady XTP sabot bullets with it. $200 shipped and insured lower 48. USPS money order please or personal check for member in good standing (my call). Please PM me if interested. Thanks!

Do you know the barrel twist on that one? is it the 1-20 twist, or a 1-28 twist?

I believe it is 1-28 twist. I don't think they offered it in 1-20, although I could be wrong.

sambo3006,

The first 2 years of the Encore the .45 caliber was made in a 1/20 twist. T/C changed the twist in 2004 or 2005 to 1/28.

The 1/20 twist was problamatic for the shooters as well as T/C.

I'll look at my owner's manual if I have it or poke a ramrod down the barrel to measure the twist rate and post here. FWIW, I haven't had any issues with it. Groups around 2" or so at 100 yds with scope, 2-3" with the fiber optic sights. Thanks for the heads up, Doc!

I ran a cleaning rod that spins freely down the bore and it didn't quite make a full turn down the 26" barrel (about 80% around or so), so looks like it is a 1-28 twist to me.
