Does anyone know what brand/type primers Federal has loaded into their brass? Also, how is the quality compared to WW, Hornady and other brands? Thanks for any info!

I have used Federal 338 win primed brass with good results. It seems to be as good as the Winchester and Remington brass in 338 I have used. I would assume they use there own primers.

Thanks, I guess I shouldn't have asked about the brand...that's obvious! I'll assume they are using Fed. 210s, and if the brass compares favorably to WW or Rem. then I'll go ahead and order some because I can't find anything else at the present time.

I have loaded quite a bit of primed federal brass from Natchez. If memory serves, I used .243, .25-06, .308 and .30-06. No problems with it at all. I would also assume that the primers are federal 210's.

Federal brass IMO is a cut above WW in that it's pretty much ready to run right out of the bag whereas the WW requires some prepping.
Spend the $$ and buy the Federal Match unprimed and have a first class product from the jump.

Given the current supply problems most outfits are having, I'm happy to just get these!

Yep, grab em when you can.

John: they are indeed FED210s. I bought a few of them a couple of years back and that is what they are. They also load the 210s in their 338s. jorge

I have used some of it years back in the 300Win mag and it seemed okay back then, so I would imagine it's fine now too. I just hate switching brands but with supply troubles like we have now I'll use whatever I can buy! I would love to try some of the Nosler,Lapua or Fed. match brass but for hunting rigs I just can't justify the prices, given the results I am getting with plain old WW or similar brass.

I've never understood primed brass. Always seemed like it just made it harder to ship.
