It is actually 3x9x38. I have one and it is a decent scope for the buck.

It is a 2X10X38. I ran one on a 280 and another on a 300 Win for several years without a problem. I killed a bunch of animals with those scopes. The view looks a little narrow with the 5X factor but they work well and hold up well. I wish I had another one!

I have a Weaver V10 2-10x38 and think that it is a poor scope.

If you're looking for an inexpensive scope in that magnification range for your Stevens 200 in 223, I'd recommend the 3.5-10x40 Simmons Whitetail Classic that Natchez (www.natchezss.com) has on sale. I've mounted 15+/-of these scopes for customers and liked them so much that I bought 12 (to date) for myself, family, and friends. These are old stock scopes made in the Philippines. I like the 3.5-10x40 version better than the 3.5-10x50, as it can be mounted lower.

If you go out to www.natchezss.com, you can see these scopes in the March 2009 sales flyer. They are on the bottom of page 2, stock #s F03BN00053 for the 3.5-10x40 and F03BN00055 for the 3.5-10x50.

Since I really dislike the 2-10x38 Weaver V10, I'll sell you mine for $80, just enough $$ for me to replace it with another 3.5-10x40 Simmons from Natchez.

Jeff

PS I have a 3.5-10x40 Simmons on my Savage 11 in 223 and it does a nice job with the 50 grain VMax Fiocchi factory loads.

I'm with Jeff on the Weaver V10. I've had a couple that came on rifles I purchased and didn't much like them. Both were short on eye relief and the field of view was cramped. There are lots of better alternatives including the Weaver 3X-9x that generally sells for less than the 2.5X-10X.

Jeff, (260remguy)

Tried sending you a PM. If you want to trade your Weaver 2-10x38 for a Simmons Whitetail Classic 3.5-10x50 let me know. What finish is the Weaver?

I'll take it for $80 if you don't want to trade it.

Sorry Bigwoods I meant the Weaver. If he doesn't trade you I'd like it.

Thanks, but the 50mm objective doesn't work for me.

I have a number of Weavers, including the V10. I have not used the V10 too much yet. Maybe a dozen hunts.

They are good glass for the money. The best of the lot is the V16 in my book. I have had that scope for more than a dozen years and it has been used a lot on numerous rifles. It is a super repeatable optic.

I just picked up a Weaver 1.5x4.5 "extreme" the other day and it looks to be a good optic, but VERY heavy, as most illuminated are.

THE CHAIR IS AGAINST THE WALL.

The Tikka T3 in .308 Winchester is the Glock 19 of the rifle world.

The website is up and running!

The Weaver V10 2-10x38mm I had was like looking through a tube. I could never achieve an edge to edge sight picture at any eye relief position. It was soon gone. If you like looking through your scope to see a black ring around the sight picture then by all means get one.

I've had better luck with the 3-9x38 than the 2-10x38. The eye box at 2 power is not good in my opinion on the 2-10 and what good is 2 power if isn't quick and easy to find your way through.

I'm a Weaver believer and own at least a dozen Grand Slams, classics, and classic extremes but I steer away from the classic 2-10. The classic 3-9 or 2-7 are better bets and the grand slam 3-10x40 is great.
