I just lucked into a bunch of 221 Remington Fireball brass and a set of dies, so I need a rifle, or a Contender barrel, or an XP100, something so I can shoot this caliber! Let me know what you've got if you're interested in selling or trading. Thanks.

Oregon,
I have a Remington M-700 Classic in .221 FB. With exception of one small detail, it's as New in Box....
The small detail is that it has a 22" bbl. I am fairly sure that all these had 24" bbls. I bought it used at the local Gander Mtn. I've only run enough rds thru it to sight in the scope. Less than a box, I expect. Seemed to shoot well.
As you may know, these are fairly rare. For whatever reason, they didn't make many. Will sacrifice it for $500 plus $25 shipping. AND I will ship from an FFL... (at my cost...) Don't wait too long, as it's going on the table at the Gun Show this week-end....

I'd rather 22" myself on the little FB. I got 3600 or more with Lil Gun and 40 grainers. Little thing flat shot.
Huntz, I bought a 77V Ruger 6mm years back BECAUSE it was chopped back to 21". LOUD as hell in that round, but shorter bbls are often more accurate. That gun had nothing else done and put 5 in ONE ragged hole at 100 yds. That along with being handier is reason enough for me.
Fireballs are quiet to begin with, and use such little powder, virtually meaningless loss in whatever velocity difference.

Oregon45;
Grasshopper's deal is as good as it gets. GREAT rifle, helluva price, and you won't find better to deal with.
You really oughta grab that one before it's gone.

I have the CZ American 527 in .221 with a 22 inch barrel. It shoots v'max's very, very well with W296. You may want to consider a CZ also.

there's a used CZ in my local gun shop that has one of the prettiest stocks I've ever seen. If it were a 223 I would own it right now.
They say everything happens for a reason. For me that reason is usually because I've made some bad decisions that I need to pay for.

Thanks for all the offers guys, I'm still keeping my eyes peeled. I do have a DPMS complete lower receiver for an AR15 I'd consider trading. It has the Pardus collapseable stock, standard trigger and is unfired. I bought the rifle, then sold the upper, then lost interest in building a 204 upper so now it's sitting. Waiting for a new home.

Are you sure? I think Hodgdon lists max velocity right at 3380 fps with Lil Gun and those have loossened primer pockets and even blown primers out of my buddies LVSF with loads below published data. And my tight chambered Fireball shooting close to max data (Lil Gun)is starting to show signs of pressure with velocities hovering around 3300. I realize there are fast and slow barrels, but 300 fps? If you are indeed getting 3600 fps, thats great and amazing for such a small capacity case. Good shootin'
