I am not 100% sure but I think the sight will also fit a Favorite. The Visible loader was designed to match the size and shape of the Favorite, I do know the stocks will fit. Hole spacing is 13/16" center to center on it, whats the Stevens Favorite distance? This is a very tall sight, from the bottom of the base to the top of the stem is over 2 1/2".

Joe,
I measured my Model 1915 Favorite and it was way over an inch, 1.470 give or take. It has the Lyman on it.

Ya, I was looking at the Favorites tang holes as well on the net and could tell they were alot wider than the model 70's. This is the Marbles V6 for the Stevens model 70 and 71.

I don't get it, if they were never serialised and were marked with nothing but inspector stamps how did JC letter your guns? Some reliable information here. Last paragraph deals with serial numbers. Everyone that reads this letter are required to send John $25.

Check is in the mail...!!! Mike...
All said, the Savage 99 is a genius of a rifle. Although no longer produced, it remains highly revered, as it was the foundation from which Arthur Savage built one of America's great gun companies. >> (Jon Y. Wolfe) <<

This is the Marbles V6 for the Stevens model 70 and 71. I just pulled out a Favorite and put it next to a Visible Loader, should have done that before (now I'm 100% sure they aren't the same ). The hole spacing is a lot different but the two guns are quite close in overall shape and size. I had never seen that style sight before, does it fold forwards? It looks like it is so long that it may hit the comb of the stock if it folds backwards. I had seen one Visible Loader with a tang sight but didn't look at it close when I saw the comb had been notched out for the sight, I just though it was the wrong sight. I have a Marbles Simplex that is stamped V8 - Stevens 65 or 66 bolt action. The holes dont quite line up and it does not go high enough (ignore the 3rd hole on the end, it's hand drilled and a little off center), but you can get an idea from this sight just how tall the sight has to be. Gene, ya, good observation. I thought my sight was buggered as well when I looked at it when I took the pics because as you can see the locking spring is in front of the sight for it to lock forwards.
If you look at an S1 (Savage 99) Marbles tang sight the locking spring is on the back of it to lock it towards the rear of the bolt.
Your tang sight is maxed right out to get it at the right level. I know it's not for a 70 though. The one I pictured is down all the way and is about as high as yours without lifting the stem any.
I hit my buddy up for a V7 (Stevens 425) tang today but he didn't have one, would have been a neat one to have.
