Which would you pick? Both would have a mil dot reticle. The Nightforce is about $400 more.
Your thoughts please

It depends on your use. For me, it would be the nightforce. I run the Mk4 and the NXS on 2 work rifles but the NXS is just "more" scope. I've shot both at twilight and the NXS does a better job with the lowlight in my opinion. It's a heavy duty bastid. No flies on the Mk4 and leupold's customer service is superb (if you ever need it).

Was looking at Nightforce scopes yesterday on the net. Curious about where they are made, and where do you send them if repairs are needed? I know zilch about them other they command big bucks. I do know they good press however.

They are assembled and headquartered in Idaho.

I've got a Nightforce 2.5-10X24 on an AR-15 and I've looked through the 3.3-15X50 at Sportsmans warehouse. The glass is amazing and I hear very good things about the repeatablity on the scope. I've owned a MK4 6.5-20X50 years ago that seemed like a fantastic scope but I honestly didn't use it much and it was sold.
The glass on the Nightforce is amazing and I do remember the glass on the MK4 being very good.
I think the NXS has the edge but the saved $400 in my pocket sounds good too. Just a hard choice.

NF hands down if weight is not an issue. The 4-14 Leupy has tunnel vision...in all models.

As RH says Nf any day, that scope in the leupy line is the worst one they make, its a gimmick scope imo. If you do go leupy do any of their others, even a vx2 over that one.

I was faced with the same decision last fall, and I chose the NXS 3.5X15X50.I certainly don't regret my decision.

After owning one I.O.R. Scope I'm a little too scared to buy another. I bought a 3-18X42 from them. The glass was amazing. In all honesty, probably the cleanest scope I've ever looked through. But, before I ever mounted the scope I turned the side focus and one of the enternal lenses cracked. I sent the scope back and was treated well, but the replacement scope didn't seem to have the same image quality as the original. It was still very clean but just not like the first one. I sold it and moved on. I don't want another.
