You guys are learning fast. Dads have two sets of standards. One for their sons and the other for their daughters. In the case of the boys its get all you can while you can.
Daughters on the other hand are placed in protective custody and no boy better get within 100 yards of her if they know whats good for them.
What doesn't kill you makes you stronger. Except for bears. Bears kill you.

Dave, for some reason all of this car talk has got me thinking. It would be sweet if camp chickenbuck had a Joker parked out back to hit the trails with Do you know the joker that I speak of? When was the last time you rode in, or even heard the term? They kind of died out when the unibody came. As kid up nort I remember seeing them here and there. Had one myself for a while. Swish..

A car with the front clip in tact, firewall, and windshield, sometimes enough roof to cover the front seats. Everything else removed.
Doors and the rest of the body from behind the front seats back...all gone. Ive even seen them with no hood or front fenders.
Iron range dune buggy. My dad, born in 48 and raised in Keewatin, called them "Jokers" I had one for a while in highschool. Good fun.

Not much luck White Sturgeon fishing on the Columbia. We caught 3 under size ones that were released. Mine was 36 inches. The slot is 38" to 52" for keepers.
How much does a 38" t0 52" sturgeon weigh? Similar to to norherns or muskies, or are the beefier? I know some guys that do ok with the sturgeons. Kind of hoping they'll take me with this year look how young the boy is in this one

Darn nice Sturgeon. Wish we'd have caught some that size.
Spent Saturday up at deer camp cutting firewood and setting up a bear stand for my son-in-law.

M1894, yes we can legally bait bears in Wisconsin. Baiting deer is also legal in designated areas. The amount and types of bait are regulated by the DNR.
Deer baiting is very controversial here and I wouldn't be surprised if the DNR finally puts an end to it.

Attention all Wisconsin members. Remember that the annual fish and game meetings will be held in each county tonight at 7:00 PM. Be sure to attend and vote on the issues.

The closest to baiting bear we can do here is 1.5 ounces . from dec page : Q: Can I use bait to hunt bears? A: No. You may only use up to 1.5 fluid ounces of a liquid scent or lure.

Phil, I don't have a copy of the current bear regs, but if I recall correctly you can use up to 2 gallons of bait per site. Bait must be in a pit that is no larger than 2' x 2'.
You can not use meat, grease or honey for bait. Bakey products, Kool Aide powder, Gummy Bears are popular baits.

Too bad. We'd be happy to donate some beavers to any MN bear hunter.
