I have had this gun since I was a teenager,,, it still shoots well but seems to have lost some power and with the number of shots that have been through it there is no wonder. I might want to have it reblued as well depending on the price, Is there a "go to" guy on high power springers? Quality and dependability are what I am after!

I would recommend sending it to Airgunwerks. David Slade is the man there, he was Beemans head airgunsmith for many years before becoming the U.S. distributor for Theoben air guns. David's tuned several of my HW guns (Beeman guns are actually Weihrauch guns made in Germany) and Beeman guns. He's very nice to deal with and can do anything from bluing to full tunes. In fact, David installed a gas ram into my HW80 (R1) and shoots a lot smoother with a tuned feel to it. It's very sweet to shoot and packs a punch out to 80 yards. http://www.airgunwerks.com/contact.htmlTell him Ian sent you.

Love those Theoben conversions. The gas ram seems noticably smoother and more uniform in my old R1.

Thanks I'll check them out, I'm sure the old girl could use a tune and perhaps a new mainspring after all these years.

http://www.olliedamons.com/airgun.htmlI've used this place with complete satisfaction, but with Benjamin, Crossman, and Sheridan pneumatics.

Regarding the Aigunwerks Service, does anyone know if the match grade tune includes tuning the trigger, or is this at the additional $40?

Regarding the Aigunwerks Service, does anyone know if the match grade tune includes tuning the trigger, or is this at the additional $40? David's trigger tune is another 40.00, but it's worth it. He's not called "trigger man" for nothing. He's tuned 3 of my guns including the trigger tunes. Totally different guns when I got them back. No creep, just a very clean predictable crisp break. Kinda like glass. Plus he's a very nice guy to deal with and talk to, with a English accent.
