Ross Seyfried did an article a few years back in either Handloader or Rifle magazine on a 22/284 he built. If I remember right, he was pushing the 60 gr. Partition well over 4000 fps. The 284 case is about the same length at the 220 case.

I'd say ditch the SUCKS, pick up a new CZ 527 with the flush fit magazine, screw on an 8" twist barrel, chamber for .222 Rem. Load up some 70 grain Speer's, and go forth and kill schit. But, what do I know? grin

I've had several swifts. NICE cartridge. I have had just one 22-250AI and didn't use it that much.

But if I was building another I would go 22-250AI for the reasons already mentioned.

P.S. The recipe sounds perfect. My latest 25-284 is a 23" #2 PN with 3/4" shank on a M700 short in a standard fill classic. Blind mag with Williams steel guard. It is very slightly muzzle heavy. If I was doing a 22 cal I would go with a barrel a red C hair smaller than a #2. Doesn't that pretty much describe the sporter?

I'm starting to go with sporter contour for ease.

You boys have convinced me, I'm doing a 358 Win.
