Just got a Zeiss Conquest 4.5-14x44 scope in the mail, I traded a rifle for it.

It has this reticle

Any info on it would be much appreciated, I cant seem to find any info on the Zeiss site on this reticle

thanks!

did more searching and figured it out. When scope is set on 10x, the brackets are 20" apart, for ranging the depth's of a deer's chest smile

I'm pretty sure that's the Zeiss ZRF reticle. At 14x the subtensions should be very close to 71.4 % of the 10x subtensions (10/14=.714) or at 14x a 14.3" target size will subtend to those yardages (assuming that the power ring is calibrated properly and the upper end is actually 14x).

Most of the big mule deer that i've practiced reticle-rangefinding on measure right around 18", which would be right around 11x.

Those rangefinding subtensions should be accurate to right around the 400 yd. mark. Beyond that the thickness of the stadia lines themselves should be taken into account to get the most accurate results possible.

I wish they would've put the stadia lines somewhat closer to the reticle's vertical axis and the numbers on the other side. Then it could also be used as a ballistic reticle as well. If they would've had the left side of the lines touching the vertical axis it would've been the coolest-looking ballistic and rangefinding reticle going...IMO.

I got a Leica 1200 so the RF feature in this scope probably won't be used much. Great scope though smile
