I spent several years as a sound technician at a larger music venue, and I always found it entertaining and interesting that guitar players invariably named their guitars. I have heard some wonderful stories as a result of asking about some of those names.

I have seen some really great names for custom rifles in this forum so I thought it would be entertaining if folks would post the names they've given their rifles, or the names that they've acquired.

IIRC I have seen a 25-06(AI?) swirly called the "Little Red Rooster", the "Original Coyote Bomber", a "Red Hot" and a number of others.

When I take some pics and get them loaded I'll post my own.

Nothing earth shattering but I do call my 280 "Old Faithful". Whatever comes into its crosshairs goes down with one pull of the trigger. I refer to my Encore Wby as the "Hybrid". It has a blued receiver, stainless barrel, black scope rings, aluminum scope base, black forend, camo butt stock & a Cabela's Special purple, gray & silver web painted scope.

Don't have a name picked out for my Dakota yet.

Bumblebee (223AI) is about the only one that is 'named'

Got a custom that has had a few problems that had to be fixed to make it shoot. I call it "Larry".

A.J.,

I have a McSwirly stocked M-Seven in 7mm SAUM. When the stock was ordered, it was ordered as a 50% Burgundy, 25% Lt Grey, and 25% White...

I neglected to take into consideration that the lighter colors would "bleed" a bit. Thus it ended up a rather ligher shade of Burgundy. blush

When I had a gunsmith friend fit the B/A into the stock, He lovingly dubbed it: "Hunting Barbie". Ironically, the name just stuck.... blush
