the question is will the paint last? Well, my oldest paint job is on its second day and seems to be holding up fine. Beyond that, I have no experience or expertise on the subject. Other posters who have used a clear coat say that Krylon Fusion holds up pretty good--not perfect, but well enough that it's still worth doing paint jobs with it. Now you know what I know...

Some folks here would extrapolate that data point to an infinitely durable paint job.  I think it looks great. I've seen some $3K custom guns with less appealing patterns on them.

Looks great! I have a can of Krylon clear coat in a satin finish. If I get time today, I will put a coat of it on. I'll only post pics if it changes the look of the stock--which I am hoping it WON'T.
