When I was "there" I wondered how some idiot could wave raw meat in front of a bunch of starving tigers. Better if they had shipped an entire ocean liner full of round-eyed whores. Now THAT would have been a morale builder.

ET You are very right there. GI pay #1 for round eye. I left Cam Rahn Bay one evening went up QL 1 to Na Trang to find the fictitious Na Trang Hotel with the French Round eyed women. Stupid stupid stupid. Young and dumb at the time. The Road was closed but we opened it up. One of my brains was full of beer at that time. Web

I was in the Black Sheep Squadron (VMA 242) stationed in Chulai and Danang in '70 and '71. I only have a few photos but have never scanned any of them into digital.

In 1969 I caught the mail chopper over to Pu Cat air base and saw the same Bob Hope show. I was about a mile from the stage but it was worth the trip. We got our fire support from the Korean Capital Division. They really had great USO shows. The women looked better and took off all their cloths. I must have drank a 55 gal. drum of Korean Cherry wine in coolers.

her walking through the crowd shows a lot of bravery on her part. Why is that? Mostly because she's wearing nothing below the waist. The black and white pics are deceiving. She is wearing the tight slacks common to that time. What your seeing is a 'camel toe'. BP... I know it took me a double take to figure that out.

Ann and Joey were both beautiful women, and back then I would have married both of them at the same time! I'll never forget how surprized I was that Joey had so many freckles on her body! You'd never known that by looking at her when she was dressed.
I saw a movie where only the military and the police had guns. It was called Schindler's List.

Ann Margaret was a commando? Furless rather than fearless, apparently Before there was Photoshop, there were other ways to doctor a photo. If she'd been wearing fur, I'd have bought it. Clean-shavers weren't around in the 60's. Not American girls, anyway. But I guess you'd have had to have been there to know. - Tom

That picture of Hanoi Jane on the 40mm anti aircraft gun and her statement "that she hoped the NVA shoot down lots of American air planes" was always my favorite. I have always wanted to meet her and thank her for her support. I was and aviator when this picture came out in Stars and Stripes. That is the one picture that has remained with me.
I never saw one of these show for the harbour hoppers, real shame the unit I was in was busy fighting a war.
NONE OF THEM WERE INTERESTED IN SHOWING UP IN DONGTAM. WONDER WHY?
Thus saith thr lord; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeh from the lord. Jeremiah 17:5 KJV
