Has anyone tried RL26 with a 168gr. TTSX? I am thinking it may be a little slow, but if I can get them to 2900fps+, I'd be happy!

I use that same bullet in my 30-06 Norma Brass 60.6 grains of Hunter Powder, Federal 215-Primers. 2965-fps. About 1/2 MOA
My 30-06 has a 24-inch barrel.

Wish you all the best.

You know the rules= work up to this load.

Take care.

I was thinking of trying it honestly. Bet that peck deer pretty hard.

Yes it does. Got my first buck with it this morning. Small 6 point. It hammers them. Close behind the shoulder and might have gone 20 feet.

Does anyone have load data for the new .308 250gr. A-Tip bullet? I called Hornady and couldn't help me. They have no data on it yet. I appreciate someone getting back to me. Thank You

I would think that would be a good candidate for Re26. Might have to pack it in there though. A 250 is probably going to have to be seated pretty deep.

Does anyone know what the H2O capacity of Lapua brass looks like? I’ve got some ordered and wondering how much Im going to have to adjust my load. Currently using W-W and Hornady brass. TIA

63.5 gr of Re26, lapua brass, fed large mag primer and a 180 partition is right at 2900 fps out of my 24” 30-06. Little bitty groups too.

I’ll have to try that one. I have a small supply of Re26 and some 180 Hornadys. I use the 215 with h4350 also. I used some of the Re26 in a 300WM with the 180’s and they were running 3150 fps. Killed my biggest buck to date with that load.

If anyone is interested, Lapua 30-06 brass holds 2 grains less H2O than Winchester and Hornady brass and 1 grain less than Remington brass.

I use Lapua and Winchester brass and find it does make a difference on the top end of things, I'll get pressure signs 1 to 2 grains sooner in Lapua. 51 grains of IMR 4064 with 150 Interlocks is hard to beat. I run 52 in WW brass. Another load is WW brass, 165 NBT's with 56.3 grains R17. I get 2950 with in my Kimber Montana with 24inch barrel. I can swap in a 165 TGK same same. 57 grains of R17 with virgin Lapua brass and a 155 Scenar runs 3080 and tiny groups.

Interesting. I've always primarily used Remington brass so never did much comparing but thought I read somewhere that Remington ran less capacity. Apparently not.

My load with Remington brass in a lot of 30-06's with IMR 4064 and 150's is usually best around 52 gr's which holds out with what you and Hiawatha are saying.

48 grains of H4895 with Remington brass & 150 Sierra PH has been accurate and consistent in 2 different 30-06's that I've shot it in so far. Not a speed demon, but easy to shoot and accurate. 3 shot groups down around 1/2" in a Sauer, and 4 shot group out of a peep sighted 7600 went just over 1 1/8" at 100 yds. 3 shot was under 3/4".

Using Lapua brass you need to check your fired neck diameter. My Winchester brass fired is.340 and loaded Lapua brass measures .3375. I don’t think that is enough neck clearance and could also show pressure issues. I measured some Lapua brass with a tube mic and it runs right at .015”. .015 + .015 + .308 = .338 and with fired brass measuring .340. Just a heads up about this. I’ve got some loaded that Im going to break down and turn the necks to take about .001 off of each side.

.340 is a SAAMI minimum neck.

I would bet if you measured a casting of the neck of your chamber, it would be a little larger than .340 due to spring-back of the brass after firing.

I wouldn’t loose sleep WRT the Lapua brass.

Yeah I figured it was at least.342 with the spring back. Was hoping anyway.
