Lucky for you, the .45LC takes large pistol primers. I can still find those from time to time. Be thankful it doesn't take small pistol primers. Small pistol primers are like Ol' forky toes. Some people claim to have seen evidence of their existence, but nothing substantive can be found! whistle

Dave, any idea as to when Ruger switched over to the lighter frame for the vaquero?

griz, I think they changed in 04, i believe 03 was the last year of the "big frame"

the slimmed frame are easy to identify, instead of just saying "vaquero" on the left side of the frame below the cylinder it says "new vaquero"

I think we saw him once. during black powder season a couple of years ago in the headlights. couldn't get the lights on the head, but the body was ginormous.

honestly I think that the split toe tracks we see this year are "forky junior"

they look very much the same but not as big & not as heavy...

Pam, Dave told me he tried his best to get the second vaquero for you, but the other bidder drove the price out of sight. Said he felt real bad cause you had your heart set on getting into the cowboy action shooting scene.

Spent Tuesday up in the Eagle River, WI helping my friend close up his cottage. Saw lots of golden Tamaracks. God I hate walking through a Tamarack swamp this time of year. You always end up with a ton of tamarack needles done your neck.

Stopped at a small gun shop on the way back and found a rifle I really need. It was a Tika in 6.5x55. First one I've ever run across in a 6.5. Wood on it was terrible, but the action was a smooth as glass.

Well guys and gals kiddo Thunder could use some prayers, the dreaded H1N1 has hit her like a brick wall. Waiting to hear back from Doc as I type on what the next move will be. BBall games have been cancelled, deer season right around the corner for her, for her this is not good at all. Kids are dropping like flies atschool my other kiddo was missing 10 kids in her class yesterday out of a class of 24.

Chickenbuckeroos this crud is not Good...... Here I thought I'd be deer hunting this weekend with a bow, doubtful now... Stay safe guys and gals, and Dave Nice Ruger I've been eyeballing the exact model in .44 myself.

Get that kid better Wabo. We have it flying around here too. WI has the most cases in the US I think.

It is nothing to mess with.

I heard on the news that Crookston school district is closing today due to the bug.

At conferences last night teachers were saying 10-13% of students are out with it. It made its round at our place everyone was down for 1-2 days with a fever and nausea then it let go.

We just kept giving kids 1-2 liters of juice and a liter of water each hour and it was done.

One school 40 miles from here closed because 30% of the kids were out with it. Medford, WI is where it was.

So far most of it has been the less serious version of it. Hope it stays that way if we have to have it.
