cmfic1,
Thanks for those pics. I have a lead on a take off similar to yours for my rifle. Red recoil pad and a barrel band like I have planned and it will look just like yours I think.

Very nice, R. Kinda Alaskanish. Aheada your time, I guess.
I've seen more well-shot game lost with TSXs than any other premium bullet.

Just that you, and a few others, dreamt up the blueprint for the Ruger Alaskan long before Ruger took the hint... Very nice rifle you have there. Made even nicer by the fact that the bolt is properly located...

My .375 RUM Rem 700 SS, 26" bbl, KDF brake, pillar and glass bedded in a Richards laminated stock with a Limbsaver pad and a mechanical recoil reducer in the stock that I fitted, finished and hand checkered. Topped with a 2-7x Leupold scope on Burris mounts. It shoots 270 gr and 300 gr Barnes TSX bullets moa to 200 yds.

yes, I really like the rifle. Took 20 months since it was ordered. Shot a moose and m-deer with it with 250gr Accubonds this fall. Moose was thru and thru as was the deer, moose 220 yds deer 25yds. At 2700fps the 250gr load falls a little behind the H&H but the 286gr load at 2550fps puts it right in H&H territory. Shoots the same as my old Rem 700 C-Grade Custom but weighs 3.25 lbs less. I tell you I was real close to cancelling and getting same in a 375H&H . But glad I waited.

Plain vanilla 375 Ruger Alaskan in a black Borden Rimrock stock - at work in its natural setting.
