Anyone know the muzzle od on a Sako barrel? How about the barrel diameter 6" forward of the bolt face?

All it takes is a caliper........Somebody?

I think Tikka's are about the same. That's what I heard, anyway.

.243=.630muzzle, about .738 6" in front of shank.
.223= about the same
.308= about the same

All 3 measured within .002" for both measurements. I measured the back end with the stock on, but looked like I could get a good measurement 1/2 way down the barrel with the caliper.

My 300 WSM A7 mics .620 at the muzzle.
About .750 6" up from the bolt face.

IMHO, the sidewalls have the ideal thickness when there's a .308 hole in the barrel. Not too heavy, not too light.
