I am thinking of sending my leupold vx-1 to Leupold to have M1 turrets put on. Does anyone have any experince sendig a scope to Leupold to have turrets put on, especially the vx-1. I am sure there has been a tread regarding this before, but I sure would like some info from anyone who has done this before. Thanks.

I'm about to do the same thing (also VX-I)... I'm very curious as well.
I'm gonna have them put the LR reticle in and a CDS elevation turret on.
I sent leupold a email regarding my questions, if I get a reply i'll post it here.
looking forward to some input

Why would you want to spend the money to have both put on? I have scopes with ranging/LR reticles, and I have scopes with turrets, and both work fine. I had a mildot scope with turrets, and could find no way to use both, so ended up selling it.

I had a mildot scope with turrets, and could find no way to use both, so ended up selling it. It's done on a regular basis with the M24....Fixed 10, M1's and a mildot. If I was after real dangerous game, that's probably how I'd go, but for critters, a duplex and M1's works real well. The Mildot is handy for wind in a pinch, as well as elevation, but when you have time to twist turrets, I tend to favor that method better.
