One question. Where will those of us that are setting up a tent be able to camp?

I already resonded to the pm and, of course, count me in.

Thanks,

I think we will have several large tents at Cheyenne's place with extra cots. But if you are real shy and want your own pup tent whistle I am sure we can find a corner. I believe I am housing gotlost and les in my trailer with me

Cheyenne:

So let's get this straight. Is there vehicle access into your cabin? My guess is no, since you are proposing that we shuttle everything in on 4-wheelers. I will drive my pickup which can negotiate almost any road but I'm also pulling a trailer that can't. What's the name of the campground that's located about 2 miles away?

Keith:

Where are you parking your trailer? At the campground?

The wife has opted out, so I will have an extra bunk.

Many thanks to those 24hourcampfire members who are doing all the "legwork" to make this gathering happen. Lottsa work!!

I do have a question...... not clear to me.... Is the "group cooking" going to be done at the cabin, at the parking lot, or at the campground?

How 'bout the probable location of the "BS sessions"......?

Thanks folks..... FjLee Denver CO

Group cooking and BS sessions at the cabin. The campground I have in mind is only 3 miles away via good roads.

The new location works out good for me, it's much closer.
I know about where it is, but location details will be helpful.
I assume details will be furnihed later. Since I will be getting there early some tips on where to camp (forest service land?) would help.
My trailer can go just about anywhere, is there road access, no matter how rough, directly to a place I can camp or will I have to park my rig and pack everything in on the quad.
I really prefer not to set up in a campground, I like quite secluded places.

The roads in that area are about a good as you will see on circus land. You can camp near there or go down 230 just into Colorado (only a few miles away) and head back into the Pelton Creek, Horatio Rock area. Good, secluded spots all over in there. Plenty of areas to camp near Fox Park as well.

I'll second that. We made it all the way to Pelton Creek Campground last weekend. The road is a Cadillac road and there are tons of places to camp as there was no snow in the area. The road to Foxpark should be clear as well, and also some roads right outside Mountain Home.

The reason for shuttling people from the parking area is to keep trafic/parking down to a mimun. the 3000 feet from the parking area to the cabin is good road, this will keep the nieghbors happy and less wear and tare on the area we are using.

Cheyenne:

OK we need some specific directions to your cabin.

Is it located East or West of hwy 230?

What's the USFS road number?

How about driving directions starting at the Wycolo Lodge?

Which campground is closer, Miller Lake or Boswell?

I have detailed directions and a picture that I will post to the PM thread. I just need to make sure they are accurate for people not familiar with the area. It is about 2 miles north of WyColo. Because you are familiar with the area, it is in the private "subdivision" of cabins right by Tic's parking lot now maintained by the Forest Service. I'm not familiar with Boswell. Miller Lake is about 3 miles away. My wife also says that people camp in Tic's all the time, but I don't know the rules on that.
