Anyone using this reticle? If so, how do you like it? I'm looking at a closeout 6.5-20x40 with this reticle installed. It would live on an AR-15.

I love mine. Mine seems to match my 22-250 perfectly...
Was out busting rocks one time.. Range was 475. Held the 450 on it... Low... Held the 500 on it... High.. Split the difference.. Dead rock!
IMO, I like the non-side focus over the ones that come with the side focus. (Mine has the side focus, and if it gets moved can be a pain in the arse to get right.)

I love mine. It is the side focus 4.5-14 and I don't have any problems with focus/paralax. If anything I am suprised at how little I have to mess with the side focus. As for the reticle, I am shooting a .243 with 55 gr Nosler bt's at 3900 fps. That exact load is listed in the booklet to zero at 300 yds. It works amazingly well. I spent a lot of time on the range getting it dialed in and making sure it was perfectly level as far out as 500. At the end of the day I set up some vitamin water bottles filled with water at the 300, 400 and 500 yard berms. Bang flops first shot on the 300 and 400. Danced around the 500 for a few, but I smoked it on the 4th one. I was really impressed as I was holding the hairs right on them and the bottles were only the size of a standing ground squirrel.
I have the booklet right here and it lists a few loads for the .223 if thats what cartridge your AR is shooting.
Group "A" (scope at its highest setting marked with a large triangle on the power ring) lists a 200 yd zero to match up with a 40 gr v max at 3800 fps.
Group "B" ( scope set to the small triangle power setting) shows a 200 yard zero for 50 gr bullets at 3150, 53 gr bullets at 3300 and 55 gr bullets at 3250.
Hope this helps.
Screw you! I'm voting for Trump again!

I have a 6.5x20x40 LR with the VH reticle on a 223 Cooper. I really like it a lot. I also have a 4.5x14x40 LR with the VH reticle on my Colt AR. I wish it was a 6.5x20 too.

I have one on a Savage Striker 243 WSSM shooting the 115's @ 2525. The windage is 1/2 the value with those BC's. Elevation is calcd. for MOA vs. trajectory, but with this rig i killed a 530 yd. coyote in a 10 mph x-wind...once. Have taken 4 antelope does with it between 250 and 425...so far.

I have 2 of the exact same scopes on 2 of my AR's. One has the fine duplex and the other has the VHR you are asking about.
I've used the fine duplex reticled scope for years and am quite comfortable with holdover and such. I've not totally dialed in the VHR scope with my varmint loads as yet, but expect to have that taken care of on my next varmint hunt.
I think that the VHR will work out fine, but I always "proof" such things by shooting at specific ranges and comparing them to the drop-lines on the vertical reticles. I always try to do that in my varmint hunting areas during their warmer weather and at their elevations, so this takes more than an average range session here in the much colder PNW.
Good scopes for their purpose........good luck.

Works great. Have 6-18x40 on a Kimber 204. On pd's if you miss you can quickly alter your holdover with the multiple hashmarks. Larry

SS, Nice Pic! What do you guys think about the 8.5 x 25 x 50 Long Range with the VR?? I have been contemplating on one for a varmint rig and was on the Leupy web site researching last evening. Liked what I saw.
