ive got a great lab that has been the perfect family dog. he is getting older now and we are thinking of getting a puppy out of his same bloodlines(foster is neutered). he is a registered dog and we have a history of his lineage but no kennel names or contact info. is there a way to track this info down?

the reason we want to get a puppy relativly soon is we thought maybe the puppy would pick up on some of fosters behaiviors and it would make training a little easier. is this going to be the case? if not what would you recomend?

the early bird gets the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese

The easiest thing to do is to begin with a Google search to get your feet wet. I wouldn't stop there, though. You can try contacting the AKC to see who the breeder and owners were. If he is a hunting dog, there's likely a trial connection, so you can also contact field trialers in your area. Most trialers can recite blood lines better than their own lineage!
