rc82bttb, the J104 is the older version of the new J107. They are almost identical except Eberlestock added a few more straps and some of the webbing is changed a little on the J107. The J104 with the bow bucket and super spike duffel is every bit as good as the J107. Companies are always adding or changing gear and just giving it another number. I have one of these and a Blacks Creek Canyon Canadian and you won't be sorry if you do back pack hunting. You can adjust them to fit your body and hunting style. The only thing I have found that is a problem with mine is I load too much into it. I have to limit my gear when I'm hunting if I want to pack game out.
