Only difference is Charles May are about 1.5 year wait and Ingram is 3 year. Quality is the same, just time and knife shape.

I haven't seen it on any Ingram knives or seen mention of it being done on his site. Lots of Ingrams out there but all have a standard grind.

I have had a couple in scandi and it is stronger and is easy to sharpen. However the thickness does not lend itself to hunting applications very well IMO.

So it all depends what your going to use it for.. That lil friend is a sweet handling knife..For field dressing and skinning is where it shines. If I was going to use it as a utility knife then the scandi would be better. Your going to love the choil on this knife..

I spoke with Mr. Ingram yesterday and I have 5 knives coming.. They have been on order for 11 months.. He quoted me sept 2012 until he gets ready to build them.. Ouch.. Worth the wait for sure:)

My primary hunting blades are Charlie's Slitter and a Big Hand, both with the Scandi grind. I find the Scandi very easy to use for gutting/skinning. I guess it depends upon likes/dislikes. Kind of like who makes the better knife: Gene or Charlie.

I ordered the Lil Friend with the Scandi as an EDC/utility knife. Will likely use it hunting as well. Looking forward to it in Sept this year.

The other one I have ordered has a modified Slitter blade on a Bobwhite handle. Scandi grind of course. Should have it in Nov/Dec I hope. Guess I'm hooked on that style.

I will be getting a bird and trout with a scandi grind from Charlie shortly. i think that it will be a neat little camp knife, perfect for small game.

Charlie's B&T w/Scandi grind was my intro to his work. Bought it here on the "Fire. Great camp knife, as well, it resides in my flyfishing vest as I do enjoy the occassional fresh from the creek trout meal. Cast iron pan on an open fire, butter, salt and pepper......
You will like it.
The Slitter/Bobwhite he is making me will be my small game/bird game knife.

I am really looking forward to the scandi/bird trout configuration. I seriously considered the bobwhite with scandi, but wanted something a tad larger.
