I'd love to read some of THEIR stories of rifles they have worked on...might show trends.
I saw a movie where only the military and the police had guns. It was called Schindler's List.

Didn't they stop working on the Kimber rifles? I heard that as well or it might have been that they make no accuracy guarantee with Kimbers. Can't recall.

I went and checked and did not see that they would not work on Kimbers anymore, just a few specific cartridges that they would not put an accuracy guarantee on.
Guess they changed their minds.

Anyone here used "Hill Country Rifles" to accurize a factory rifle for them?
Yes, they did two rifles for me. The accuracy I get with them now is nothing short of amazing. Matt & Company have their act together.

Matt put on a McMillan stock and accurized my 7STW and it will shoot Rem. Core-Loct 140s into less tha 1"@100. Good people and on time. They have gone up on the prices quite a bit.

Yes. A .270 Weatherby re-barrel (like-for-like) Mark V Deluxe. Not only is it MOA with factory Barnes-X 140-grain load as advertized, I worked out a 160-grain Partition load that is within 3" at 300 yards. They are bona fide.

You can go to their site and see some rifles they have for sale that have been accurized (as well as semi-custom builds).
Better yet, call them up and speak with Matt. He's a straight shooter and would be happy to answer any questions you have.

I've used them for two rifles. A ruger in 257 Roberts went from 3" groups to .5 with factory ammo. a rem 700 in 257 Roy is now .5 with factory ammo. Used the roy two weeks ago on a deer hunt in the black belt of Alabama. shot two deer with 100gr TTSX at over 250 yds. Accuracy jobs from HCR gives lots of confidence.
Beware of thieves, scammers and dishonest members on the "Fire" classifieds. Ya there is a thief here too. Whatever!!
They're all around the CampFire and everywhere.

I didn't have a full accurizing job, but they did accuracy work on two rifles for me and I was very satisfied. Nice people to deal with and did it on time. They may be high, but you get what you pay for.

I know I commented two years ago when this thread was originally birthed but WTH....
they have two LH Ruger Hawkeyes of mine at the moment that are getting some "rearrangement".
that'll bring the total up to 4-5.

UtahLefty, can you elaborate on what they are doing to the Hawkeyes? I have a Hawkeye that might need some accuracy work. Plan to bed, float barrel, even lug engagement, shoot a Tubbs final finish kit through it and lighten the trigger a bit. Anything else?

one (a 300 WM) is getting re-barreled to .338WM with a 23" #4 Lilja and NECG sights (similar to my .375 700 action they did). I'm leaning towards keeping the stock at the moment, but might get a McM for it.
the other (a 30-06) is just getting cleaned up (trigger, lugs, crown, float & bed)

I have used HCR twice and are very pleased with their performance. No, they are not cheap but I like how they "guarantee" their work. The first gun I sent to them was a WBY in .300 WBY that would shoot the "Weatherby Accuracy Guarantee" of 1 1/2" groups. However, I was not completely satisfied, so I tried HCR out. After they "accurized" it, the gun now shoots 1/2-3/4 MOA consistently.
The second gun required multiple trips and ended up being rebarreled. Originally, my gun started out as a Sendero in .270 Win that shot all over the place. The only consistency was the inconsistency! I sent it to HCR and the proudly got it to group 3/4 MOA. However, once I got it back the first group I shot measured 3/4, then the second was 2, the third was 3, and the fourth group was 1 MOA. It was up to its old tricks again. Obviously, I was not satisfied so I sent it back. After trying multiple options, HCR talked me into rebarreling it. They back up their guarantee and did the rebarrel job at cost. Now, the gun is a very consistent and accurate .280 AI that I am proud to own. HCR did what hey said they would and I am very pleased. I would definitely have them accurize another gun in the future and would recommend them to anyone.

Well I've read the whole thread and find out they guarantee their work, they are very good at accurizing factory rifles and their price is worth it and price is getting higher.
OK now would SOMEBODY please post how much it cost them to get their rifle accurized. Prices are getting higher .HIGHER than what?
Thanks
Neil
