Hi All,
I spoke to Dave Clay of DRC last night about a rifle of mine he's been working on for a while. I mentioned the demand for his levers on this forum and he asked me to let you know that in a couple of weeks he'll have his web site back up and will be selling his levers directly to the public. Selling them through Brownell's wasn't working out for him. He's also been going through some very rough personal problems, which has had an adverse effect on his work. So if you need one of his levers or any other work done you'll be able to contact him again.

Good. Now I can think about getting one.

The lever on my GG is ok for bare hands, but with gloves is just too tight.

and thanks again for the update.

Very good news. I just started putting together my ideal Marlin 1895 and was dissapointed to see them unavailable. Really didn't want one of the larger ones, and stock lever is just a bit small for glove use.

Will be watching the website dilligently to place an order.

Thank you, Rob

How difficult are they to change out? I've got at least 4 thumbs on each hand. laugh

They're not hard at all. I put one on my 444 a couple years ago and really like it. I had a couple little snags and was able to get them worked out on the phone with Dave. He's a nice guy and seems to know his stuff about the Marlins.

I take the lever off and remove the bolt every time I clean a Marlin. Takes seconds and is easy as lego.

1. Open lever about 1 inch to open bolt
2. Remove front hinge screw on lever
3. Lay rifle on side with load/ejection port upwards and wiggle lever out
4. Pull hammer back and slide bolt out
5. Reach in and grab ejector (small v shaped spring clip 1.5 inches long.

The only trick on reassembly is to firstly slide the ecejtor clip into the mortise groove machined on the left side of the action (Easy with rifle laying flat) and make sure the pin extends into the locator hole provided.

Once this is done, the bolt can slide back in and you stop about an inch short of the breech so the level can find the toggle groove easily when reiserted.

It all wiggles into place so there is not much change of a problem.

As far as DRC goes, I worked with him to get a lever for my 1895 while I was deployed, and he was great to work with, gave me a discount cuz I was deployed and even convinced my wife that I needed a follower at a discounted price as well! Great product and great guy to work with, wish him well on sorting out his issues.

Here's a DRC Lever on my Marlin 1895 / .45-70, above the Winchester Model 94 / .30-30 that was my late Dad's gun ( now rebuilt).
I planned on getting the DRC Lever even before I got the rifle...sheesh, guess that makes ME a gun nut!!!
Great product! ( I need some of the other cool parts now! )
