I'm not even going to post photos of my pitiful elk-mount arrangement.

Both of my biggest bulls are Euro-mounts, because my house was already too crowded with other stuff by the time I got them to consider a shoulder mount. So they reside in my relatively small (20x15) office along with about 15 other Euro mounts (including a big red stag) and half a dozen shoulder mounts (including a musk ox). The elk and red stag racks have baseball caps hung on the lower tines so I don't poke my eyes out when looking through the bookcases below.

My only other decent elk rack is on a shelf in the shop, alongside a couple of mid-40's moose racks that are stacked on top of each other. So obviously I am no help at all, except for what not to do.
