I have a slightly different take on high fence, depending on size of acreage it can be impossible to find a particular animal....
And beyond that, on some its only numbers management and when I"m hunting meat, I don't really care actually, if you need X animals gone, I"ll be happy to come shoot them and eat them.
Of course I certainly won't call it hunting either. Harvesting, though I simply call it shooting.
Then, on top of that on what I call meat hunts, we often try new and different things, crossbow, bullet testing etc.... I don't see how this differs much from that. Legal to do basically. As long as its a quick humane death, whats the deal?
But like I"ve said, there is a difference between when I am actually hunting, and when we go to a friends place that is NOT high fenced and shoot meat. THere is no challenge to that, its a given, and could actually kill a bunch of deer simply sitting on the porch or in the truck... but for management they need the numbers thinned and dont' want to lease the property.
