I recently just got a bunch of Federal/Sierra Gameking factory ammo from a friend. The two calibers/grains are as follows.
25-06/117 grain 30-06/150 grain
I have never used this bullet on game before but they both fly very accurate out of both rifles. Are these bullets good to use on Whitetail Deer & Hogs out to 300 yards? What are your experiences with the Sierra GameKings? Thanks. BTW they are both BTSP.

For that application the gameking will work just fine. It is one of the best cup & core bullets. Try to avoid extreme quartering or head on/azz on shots as they dont penetrate like a partition, barnes or swift.

I've run Gamekings in a few chamberings and not had problems with killing on whitetails. I may run some this fall in a .308win since hearing about what the 200gr boattail will do with RL17.
Now with even more aplomb

I have no experience with the 25-06. But Federal Premium Sierra GameKing 150 grain BTSP shoots MOA out of two '06s that I own and I get pass throughs on antelope, deer, and hogs.

I've used the 25-06s. Never had a pass though, but I've never had one take another step after a hit.

Combined with 52 grains of 4064 that was my father's deer load for a long time. Very effective.

I have a 30 inch 5X4 heavy antlered mule deer hanging on my wall that didnt like a 130 gr sierra boattail out of my 270 win at the base of his skull. DRT That was the first bullet I reloaded, and took deer for years with the Sierra boattail.

I have had nothing but good luck with them. Haven't lost an animal yet with them, and that includes deer and hogs. Haven't recovered on yet either using 150, 165 gr. 30 cal. and 140 gr. in 6.5mm. Very accurate bullet as well.

I use the 117gr in my 25-06AI and they've worked just fine on whitetails and hogs.

They work perfectly on deer and hogs. I shoot the 100 grain 25-06 and I've yet to recover one, exits everytime.

The 150 grain Sierra Gameking is perfect for hunting deer. I killed a good pile of deer using them for a couple of years. I got exit wounds every time and I really liked them. I quit shooting them when I discovered that the cheaper soft points worked just as well for significantly cheaper than the $40 per box I was paying for the Federal Premiums.

They are my cup and core bullet of choice. Nothing but great results using 165gr gamekings in 3006

The 130 gr Gameking out of a 270 accounted for my best speed goat and whitetail buck. Only recovered 1 bullet from a very dead deer.

Its a natural for accuracy and a killer. Dad used the 130 Sierra for deer and elk. I used a 338 mag 250 grain game king shot through both shoulders on a buffalo up in Montana, dead before it hit the ground.

My uncle uses Sierra gamekings in his 7mm and .270win and I have witnessed many a deer shot with them and they work really well. Most shots just anchor them right there. I haven't used them yet but I will as soon as I start reloading for my other rifles.

I,ve used the 150gr. Sierra enough to know it's one of the best deer killers available. Yes I know it's fashionable to use bullets that will shoot through four inches of plate steel, but such bullets are not ideal for a 175lb deer, unless you just like the challenge of tracking. So, yes indeed use the Sierra bullets.
