Looks good. I made a big batch of venison chili Sat. when it was snowing here. Me, I like beans and threw some in there. I had a roommate from Texas in college and he accused me of being a poor Mexican when I suggested he add beans to the chili. I told him that anybody who thought you could call beef "barbecue" didn't know what he was talking about.

Actually nutmeg and a little bitter chocolate really richens the sauce. But then I am a canuck and we eat cheeze and gravy on our fries.

And we can't forget those "hot-shots"... beef hot-shots, chicken hot-shots, turkey hot-shots... generous sandwiches stacked with the meat-of-choice cut in half, then separated and a big glob of mashed potatoes flopped down between the two halves and the whole thing covered by at least a pint of rich gravy.

Know what is wrong with that recipe . . . NOTHING.

All chili/chile is good, just different.

Could you air freight a quart or two for me to evaluate?

Don't worry, I'll even make my own cornbread, but more likely big ol fluffy home made flour tortillas. Not the store bought, cardboard kind.

I put canela in my chili verde and it gets consistent rave reviews.

I've made chili with beans...and aside from my house turning into the canister of gas of mass destruction and worrying the septic tank was gonna explode, it was good then too grin

And vinegar on your fries, and cheddar with your apple pie, and pea meal with your eggs, and Lord knows what else!
