Anyone have a Ti-Goat Ptarmigan bivy and care to share your thoughts about it?

Shawn,
I just got one of their new Omni-Zip bivy's and its just what I was looking for. It has zippers right and left side, yet comes in at only 7 oz.
I'll try it out tonight and report back.

Shawn,
I bought one a couple years ago. It's very light and compact, I usually stash it in my pack for emergencies. I did use it a couple seasons ago, under a tarp during a windy rainstorm. I did not get much sleep that night due to all the wind and rain but my bag stayed dry. The Ti-Goat bivy is rated for "spray" conditions, not full exposure like some other bivys. So it works well under tarps and awnings, (and tents of course).
The only change I would make is I would have a half zipper installed down one side for easier entry/exit. Ti Goat will do that if you ask. The short cross zipper does not allow a quick exit but saves a few oz.

Ed,
Are you privy to Ti-goat products that I can't see on their web site? I only find the Ptarmigan. How do I see the Omni-zip? If you ever need a reason to try out your gear, you just let me know and I'll come up with one.
MtnHtr,
Thanks. I agree about the half zipper. I'd like the security of a more weather proof bivy, just don't want to pay the price in dollars or ounces. Compromising is hard sometimes. I don't intend to use the bivy in full rain without a cover, but it could happen.

I had one and sold it. I now have an OR Advanced bivy and it works much better for my needs. I needed something that I could use withoout a tarp or groundcloth if necessary. I'm thinking about checking out the OR Aurora bivy to save a few ounces, but I'm very happy with the Advanced.

Shawn,
The Omni-Zip isn't on the web site yet but I believe he has a few in stock. As timat46 said, call or email DJ for information.
I got stuck at work yesterday and didn't get out for the night but will give it a go tomorrow night.
I wanted a highly breathable bivy with a zipper for ventilation and ease of entry/exit and the Omni-Zip fit the bill perfectly. It also will accept a Neo Air pad.
I don't plan on using mine with a ground cloth, but it will be used with a tarp/tipi rather than in the open.
Bivy's that are fully waterproof rather than water resistant have always resulted in too much condensation for me.
