Sam,
That is some good long range shooting, does your A7 shoot better than your 85?

FYI...They guy on GB has the stainless A7 for $599.99 now and that is $100 lower than 2 weeks ago. You have to look close but they are there.

They must not be selling very well but if they keep dropping then I will have to force myself to buy another one.......

They shoot about the same.

And actually they both like the same bullets.

180 Partitions with a 175 SMK or 175 Nosler CC for practice.

Both are quite capable of anything from .5-2MOA with the right or wrong load....(grin)

Economy is sucking pretty bad almost everywhere, new gun prices may continue to fall.

IMO, $600 is a helluva deal for an A7.

Finally got around to shooting mine and unfortunately I only had one brand of ammo with me; Winchester white box 45 gr HP.

Best 3 shot group was .75" with 2 in one hole.

Best 5 shot group was 1.60".

Instead of chasing my tail with factory ammo I think I'll just buy a set of dies and start reloading.

I figure I'll start with Varget and 50 gr Ballistic tips...

Brent, your's is a 22-250?

Boatammo, recently bought a 22-250 A7, but I don't know if he's shot it yet. That sounds like a fun rifle.

Another A7 off the hood group at +500, yeah I know, I missed the 'bullseye'.....

That's Caterpillar yellow BTW.....(grin)

Was just going to post about the A7, then I saw this thread.

Been reading lots of good things about them. Stopped into the local sports shop an hour ago, and while there I asked if they had one on the rack.

Handed a 300 WMS over to me.

Took me about 10 seconds to realize that this is the one!

But in 270 WSM.

Light, smooth action, really nicely fit together.

And it fit like a glove.

Yep, one of these is definitely on my list of things to get done this year!!!

Kinda excited about it, too!

smile

Yup, it's a 22-250 and was a lot of fun at the range. The trigger was a little on the heavy side and it had more recoil than I expected but nothing that can't be fixed or gotten used to.

If I can get mine to shoot like yours then I will be in business! cool

Hopefully we will get a report from Boatammo.

sir springer.....sounds like you have already talked yourself into buying one! grin

Took the new 22-250 A-7 to the range today, no wind,100 yd.,1st 3 shot group .682, 2nd 5 shot .260 [I about shxx], 3 rd. 3 shot .768. I think it will play. The last shot on the 5 shot group about played me out. I've blown lots of 1 hole groups on the 5th shot but this time I stuck it right in the hole the others made. Feels good, the trigger was easy to adjust, and a 2.5x8 Luepy feels good on it.

I have been looking at the T3's and A7's hard recently at the local shops. I picked up this Sako Quad in 22lr a couple of years ago. It's kinda ugly, but I will never sell it because it just plain shoots. My son's first CF will probably be an A7 in 7mm-08.
