This rain may open the river to fishing as well. De Pere is going too, though I don't know how the fishing is. Even when it's bad there it's still pretty good.

Hey Dusty, I'm going to head to the lake tonight & the plan is to drag my house up into tip up fishing depth closer to the landing. You want me to bring yours in also?

Buschpilot may be right too, swift could be flowing water which could tear up that landing in a hurry with these temps.

I think it could get miserable out there. Riders on the lake say its sloppy as of yesterday. going to be worse today. River is open to birchdale already. 2wks ahead of last year and a foot less ice on it.

Our place is actually in Eastern Oregon about 27 miles or so from Baker City. We can get within about 3 miles during the winter, then snowmobile in the rest of the way.

I've been through Baker City. My son lived in LaGrande back in the early 90's than moved over to Boise. He was with Boise Cascade at the time. He still has several friends in LaGrande.

Yeah like buchy said be careful out there fellas. How is this going to effect the big pike flat fishing? I was planning on coming up this weekend and driving out. Good idea or no?

Thanks Bill, they are pretty easy here right now. Thankfully they will get a break in a few days. We chucked back 2 28" fish today. The big spawners are really moving in right now. The Bay stays open all year but it won't be safe for boats for a while yet. The ice fishing is mostly over. Our ice is rotten as hell right now. Saturday lots of people still fished on it but 3 straight days in the mid 50's finished it off.

I haven't caught a walleye in almost a year frown

I live in the wrong area I think. we'll have an awesome run of Catfish here in another month or so, but walleyes are few and far between
