What was the dog doing in the road?...... Huntsman, yes, a fair question, after the initial anger !! We live 20 miles out of town, on a dead end street, which has 6 houses in total on it. It is all rural acreage & we do not see much traffic, other than neighbours !! There are 12 dogs that live on our street & if you had asked me yesterday, I would have told you that Bella was one of only 2, that didn't chase cars. Paul.

Has broken the foot in that leg, so more & more looking like completely severed nerve, as she is in no pain at all. Which means a week or so to let the swelling go down, before surgery to completely remove her left 4qtr. Paul.

Well, at least you still have her Paul. And they adapt to this kinda stuff remarkably well. I hope things go OK with her.

Had a good friend back in Australia that had a "tripod", so I know once we get through the next couple of weeks & then the surgery, that she will be fine.
It never ceases to amaze me the emotional attachment we, as humans, develop to our pets. Bella surely is one of our family. My wife, daughter, son & I were deeply upset by this accident.
I just wish "the guy in the red truck" had stopped to help, not leave Bella in the street, in front of our driveway for my 13 year old son to deal with.
