Other than the ugly cosmetics there wouldn't be any problem setting up a Howa 1500 or Remington 700 action to use this system of headspacing would there?

Other than the ugly part and needing to inlet the stock for the nut, no problems at all.

I plan on modifying each of my Remingtons to take a barrel nut on them..I have zero problems with the cosmetics on their looks.. they are functional, and that has a lot of beauty in my eyes..

PacNor makes a barrel nut for use on Remington. It's not ugly, actually it looks pretty good. A lot better looking than the Savage.
